2020/2021 Hyundai Sonata SEL Plus
Slotting in at the number 4 spot are the rims found on the newly-redesigned 2020/2021 Hyundai Sonata SEL Plus. Just like the Avalon, these rims were nominated because of how well they complement the vehicle’s overall design.
Even though the sedan segment is starting to flop in North America, as more and more families favor Crossover SUVs, Hyundai is still chanting “LONG LIVE THE FAMILY SEDAN”!
Personally, we believe the growth of the Crossover SUV segment has given Hyundai even more of an initiative to make their Sonata a stand-out product. And we believe, for 2020, Hyundai has done just that.
Not only has Hyundai designed a Sonata with a sleek and more agile body appearance, but they paired that new body with rims that help exude it’s athletic, yet sophisticated characteristics.
For 2020, Hyundai is offering 3 different rim designs for consumers to select between. The rims on the SEL Plus are the largest of the bunch, and they are actually identical to the ones found on the Limited model. We aren’t too keen on Hyundai’s “decision making” in that regard, since it is very difficult to decipher between the SEL Plus and range-topping Limited models. But we’ll let that slide because these rims look pretty dang sharp & snazzy!
The directional layout of the modestly-sized 18-inch rims gives the fully-redesigned Sonata an appearance which suggests it is “in motion” even while at a standstill. Moreover, the brushed aluminum accenting gives the rims a hint of sophistication, while the dark inner pockets further accentuate the sportiness of these rims. We also particularly favor the intricately designed center cap which has an almost ninja-star-like appearance to it. Ooh la la!
